On Djursland the two biggest towns are Grenaa and Ebeltoft. This is where most of the cultural events are on offer, as well as the big supermarkets and the many speciality shops. Other towns, however also offer good shops, services and attractions.
Ebeltoft
All year round Ebeltoft invites you to take a stroll through the cobbled streets. This idyllic town – with crooked timber-framed houses, uneven cobbled streets and blooming hollyhocks – is one of the towns in Denmark most worth a visit.

Grenaa
Grenaa has been a market town since 1445 and is today the largest commercial centre of Djursland with all types of speciality shops and supermarkets. Three pedestrian streets unite at Torvet – the town square -the centre of Grenaa where you can dine at an outdoor restaurants, weather permitting. Each Saturday in July there is also live music. Grenaa Church, constructed around year 1300, is also located at Torvet.

Rønde
Rønde is a commercial town with speciality shops, good supermarkets and restaurants. Throughout the year, there are many different activities in the townscape. In the summer months, there is a hawker’s market and Open by Night, among other events. Moreover the town is located just on the edge of Mols Bjerge National Park and in the middle of Djursland, hence it is a natural starting point when visiting the nature reserve, attractions and special points of interest.

Bønnerup
Bønnerup is situated on the north coast of Djursland, just off the wonderful Kattegatstrand and, furthermore, in areas of natural beauty. There is a cosy atmosphere among the old fishermen’s houses and in the beautifully located and active fishing port and marina of the town.

Fjellerup
In this town you can play tennis and miniature golf or visit the Blue Flag centre. Behind the sand dunes, you see the summer cottages within a large nature area with forest. The area has grocery shopping and a few restaurants.

Hornslet
The town with the castle Rosenholm Slot
Hornslet enjoys a cosy town life, nature and culture – good speciality shops, and around the centre of town you will find playgrounds, parks and cafés. Hornslet is encircled by large forests – and not least the Rosenholm Skov (forest) around the castle. This is just around the corner if you like to hike or cycle.

Gjerrild
– a charming village
This village has many well-preserved timber-framed farms. The castle Sostrup Slot is significant with its different activities and events. The bicycle and hiking path ”Gjerrildbanestien“ follows the old railway between Gjerrild/Stokkebro to Ryomgård and further to Allingåbro. Just north of Gjerrild is Gjerrild Nordstrand a child-friendly sandy beach with lots of space in the vicinity.
